National EMS Academy Recognized by NREMT The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) has recognized the National EMS Academy for its commitment to improving the emergency medical services profession.

The NREMT presented a plaque commemorating the National EMS Academy’s dedication to advancing patient care in the out-of-hospital setting to Acadian Companies Chairman & CEO Richard Zuschlag at a ceremony on Friday, September 29. The ongoing support for the NREMT mission from the National EMS Academy and Acadian Ambulance was also celebrated at the event.

“Acadian Ambulance and the National EMS Academy have been stalwart supporters of the NREMT mission for many years,” said NREMT Chief Certification Officer Jeremy Miller. “The National EMS Academy’s commitment to the safety of the public and the improvement of the EMS profession is evident.”

The National EMS Academy has served as a testing and pilot site for NREMT examinations, and experts from both the National EMS Academy and Acadian Ambulance have assisted the NREMT in areas including examination development and serving on the NREMT Board of Directors.

“We’re dedicated to providing a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for our students, in partnership with the South Louisiana Community College ,” said National EMS Academy Director Kirk Lacour. “We work closely with the college to make sure our courses meet the highest industry standards, and we are honored that NREMT has recognized that commitment to excellence.”

A nationally accredited EMS training facility with locations in Louisiana and Texas, the National EMS Academy is a division of Acadian Companies that offers entry-level, continuing education, and refresher courses for a number of EMS career pathways, including EMTs and paramedics. National EMS Academy is also an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
