Program Eligibility

In order to enroll in our training program, a student must have:

EMT

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Be at least 18-years-old before the date of the certification exam
  • Demonstrate a minimum standard of reading aptitude
  • Be physically able to perform the duties of an EMT
  • Verification of immunization against: Meningitis; Tetanus/Diphtheria; Measles/Mumps/Rubella; Varicella or documented proof of chicken pox; Hepatitis B (consists of a three dose series which can take several months to complete); and a Current TB skin Test (must be negative or chest x-ray results showing no signs of Tuberculosis)
  • CPR - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card
  • $100 deposit
  • Completed three-part Texas EMT Application form; Application, Immunization, Immunization Exemption
Paramedic
  • EMT - National Registered or State Registered
  • High School Diploma/GED or college transcript
  • CPR - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card, ASHI, or Red Cross Professional Rescuer card
  • Verification of immunization against: Meningitis; Tetanus/Diphtheria; Measles/Mumps/Rubella; Varicella or documented proof of chicken pox; Hepatitis B (consists of a three dose series which can take several months to complete); and a Current TB skin Test (must be negative or chest x-ray results showing no signs of Tuberculosis)
