Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education Acadian Companies’ National EMS Academy earned a recommendation for full reaccreditation with no contingencies from the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), following a site visit in October 2017.

The periodical site visit served to evaluate the processes that National EMS Academy employs to develop and deliver continuing education to EMS providers, and determine if the processes and methods of educational delivery administered comply with CAPCE’s standards and requirements for accreditation.

The site visitors visit found no deficiencies, and they commended the company on having an excellent organization with high standards.

“We were very impressed with the organization of the EMS program, with National EMS Academy’s commitment to the success of the EMTs and paramedics that you educate, and your strong involvement in the community and around the world,” said CAPCE site visitors Lynne Dees and Tim Reitz.

They continued, “The National EMS Academy program is the best continuing education program we have had the opportunity to review. It’s a premiere program that utilizes the many facets of Acadian to offer top-notch continuing education to staff.”

The National EMS Academy’s continuing education program provides a variety of computer-based training (CBT) and virtual instructor-led training (VILT) courses. Through the continuing education program, EMS providers can complete all, or a majority, of their recertification hours depending on their state’s requirements. Courses and credit are recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

“I am proud to receive these results from CAPCE, and to hear the positive feedback and comments from the site visitors. It is everyone on the Pillar II team who makes our program what it is. Everyone contributes a key part of what is required to deliver the quality we do. I couldn’t be prouder to work with the individuals on our team,” said Continuing Education Manager Richard Belle.

National EMS Academy offers entry-level, continuing education, and refresher courses for a number of EMS career pathways, including EMTs and paramedics. They are a nationally accredited EMS training facility with locations in Louisiana and Texas, and are an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
