National EMS Academy Instructor Jonathan Dees At Acadian’s annual company meeting, Instructor Johnathan Dees was recognized as the 2017 National EMS Academy Employee of the Year. A division of Acadian, National EMS Academy’s primary objective is to provide education and training to those seeking to enter the emergency medical services industry.

A native of Magnolia, Arkansas, Dees has been with Acadian for seven years. He earned his EMT and paramedic certifications from National EMS Academy and worked for Acadian Ambulance in the New Orleans area starting in 2009. During his time off, he volunteered as an instructor at National EMS Academy’s Gretna campus, and he became a full-time instructor in 2012.

Because of Dees’ hard work, class sizes at the Gretna campus have grown in recent years, and National EMS Academy has become the paramedic institution of choice in the New Orleans area. Dees is now focused on providing that same quality education to Naval students as part of the Academy’s military contracts. He also handles all clinical rotations in the New Orleans area.

“Johnathan has been an integral part of the success of our EMS training programs in the New Orleans area,” says National EMS Academy Program Manager Greg Mullen. “Johnathan dedicates a significant amount of time to his students and is always willing to go above and beyond to help them in any way. He has a passion for education and his dedication to his students carries over to his students, who call themselves ‘Dees’ Kids’.”

National EMS Academy offers entry-level, continuing education, and refresher courses for a number of EMS career pathways, including EMTs and paramedics. It is a nationally accredited EMS training facility with locations in Louisiana and Texas and an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
