At Louisiana’s Community & Technical College System’s annual conference, Acadian Companies was given the Impact Award for Excellence in Workforce Development. The winners were announced on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the LCTCS Impact Awards recognition program in New Orleans, Louisiana.

South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) Assistant Dean of Allied Health Dr. Harmony Rochon, SLCC Vice Chancellor for Student Services Dr. Vincent June and National EMS Academy Paramedic Program Manager Gifford Saravia accepted the award.

LCTCS Foundation’s Impact Awards recognize individuals, businesses and industries whose leadership efforts have been notably effective in advancing Louisiana’s education and workforce needs of students, business, and communities. Annual nominations spotlight the outstanding accomplishments of those with exemplary demonstrations of their commitment to transforming education and workforce development throughout the state.

“We have partnered with SLCC for many years and have enjoyed a great relationship. It’s through these partnerships that we continue to have a positive impact on the workforce in Louisiana,” said Acadian Companies Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chuck Burnell.

The LCTCS Foundation supports the community and technical colleges, and advocates for their advancement. Their work ensures that Louisiana provide pathways to prosperity for its citizens and attracts business and industry because of its high-quality workforce.

National EMS Academy offers entry-level, continuing education and refresher courses for a number of EMS career pathways, including EMTs and paramedics. They are a nationally accredited EMS training facility with locations in Louisiana and Texas, and are an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
