National EMS Academy

World-Class Education


The National EMS Academy was formed as a collaborative effort between Acadian Ambulance Service, South Louisiana Community College and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service with the primary objective of providing the education and training necessary for individuals seeking to enter the emergency medical services industry. Initially composed of six campuses located in Louisiana, the academy now utilizes nine sites to serve students in both Louisiana and Texas.

The National EMS Academy was established in 2003 to meet the demands of a nationwide paramedic shortage.



Recognized Leadership


NEMSA is also one of only four schools in Louisiana to have its paramedic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

The National EMS Academy maintains three campuses throughout Louisiana and Texas. Each facility provides EMT and paramedic training for individuals interested in beginning a career in EMS.
