EMT is an entry-level position in the emergency medical services field. In five months, you can learn the skills you will need to work as part of a medical response team. EMTs provide basic emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS system. Medics make a difference, every day.

  • Opening the airway and providing artificial ventilation
  • Delivery of semi-automated defibrillation
  • Controlling severe bleeding
  • Dressing and bandaging wounds
  • Splinting injured extremities
  • Delivery and care of infants
  • Emergency vehicle operations
  • Communications and medical record-keeping

Course Schedule

National EMS Academy

Our Austin courses meet twice a week on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Our Beaumont courses meet from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Occasional Saturdays will be required at both site locations.
