Innovative Educational Experience


The National EMS Academy is dedicated to providing a positive learning experience for students, using a combination of classroom instruction and real-life simulation to create an exciting environment for learning. We provide innovative solutions to real-world problems and continuously monitor our effectiveness. Programs encourage participation and use a team-based approach to active learning. Curricula are peer reviewed for appropriateness, standardization and quality.

The Academy, a division of Acadian Companies, operates in partnership with South Louisiana Community College and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service.

South Louisiana Community College’s National EMS Academy is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions. We are a nationally-accredited EMS training facility and authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and continuing education courses.
