EMT Program
EMT is the entry-level position in the emergency medical services field. In 5 months, you can learn the skills you will need to work as part of a medical response team. EMTs provide basic emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS system. Medics make a difference, every day. A few of the skills you will learn:

  • Opening the airway and providing artificial ventilation
  • Delivery of semi-automated defibrillation
  • Controlling severe bleeding
  • Dressing and bandaging wounds
  • Splinting injured extremities
  • Delivery and care of infants
  • Emergency vehicle operations
  • Communications and medical record keeping

Classes for our Spring 2019 semester begin soon! Classes at the Beaumont and Austin campuses begin January 28,2019.

Our Austin courses meet nightly from 6-10 p.m. twice a week on Monday and Wednesday, and, Beaumont courses meet 8 a.m.-noon. Occasional Saturdays will be required at both site locations.
