National EMS Academy named Malynda Smit as Employee of the Year for 2023
At the Acadian Companies annual meeting in May, Senior Training Coordinator Malynda Smit was recognized as the 2023 National EMS Academy Employee of the Year. She was presented with her award by National EMS Academy Senior Director of Staffing Taylor Richard.
Smit began her career in 2007 as a training coordinator for Safety Management Systems. In 2020, she became the training coordinator for the National EMS Academy.
As training coordinator, Smit assists with student support for individuals that want to start EMT or Paramedic classes. Additionally, she maintains and monitors the student enrollment program.
“Malynda tirelessly works behind the scenes to ensure a smooth process where all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively,” Senior Director of Staffing Taylor Richard stated. “Her quality of work stands out above the rest, along with her infectiously positive attitude. She is quick to take on new responsibilities and is eager to learn new skills. Malynda embodies the true definition of quality service to our customers and fellow team members. Her collaborative mindset and team-player approach make her an invaluable asset to our team.”
