Gifford Saravia has been named as the paramedic program manager for South Louisiana Community College’s (SLCC) paramedic program, in partnership with National EMS Academy.
The National EMS Academy has officially launched the new online learning portal for their EMT program. The EMT program is a hybrid mix of classroom work hosted online plus hands-on simulation courses held on campus.
Leaders from South Louisiana Community College (SLCC), National EMS Academy (NEMSA), its parent company, Acadian Companies, and the community-at-large gathered together to celebrate fifteen years of excellence in emergency medicine education.
For the last five years, the National EMS Academy online Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions have used iLinc, which requires both a computer and a phone line to attend. Starting October 1, NEMSA will be transitioning to WebEx, a more modern VILT platform.
At Acadian Companies’ annual company meeting on May 3, 2018, Regional Coordinator Martin Lee was recognized as the 2018 National EMS Academy Employee of the Year.
All students interested in taking the EMT, A&P or paramedic classes at the National EMS Academy must attend one MANDATORY information session. The purpose of an information session is to provide potential students with the steps necessary to enroll in the different courses offered.
