Acadian Ambulance and National EMS Academy are proud to join the nation in celebrating National EMS Week, taking place from May 17-23, 2026. This week is dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary contributions of EMS professionals who provide critical, lifesaving care to our community every day.

EMS professionals are the first responders who answer the call during emergencies and provide immediate medical care and transport to those in need. Ground and flight paramedics, EMTs, EMRs, flight nurses, community and remote paramedics, van operators, dispatchers, educators, and support staff all work tirelessly, often under challenging and high-pressure circumstances. Their dedication, skill, and compassion make a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals.

“EMS crew members are on the front lines during critical incidents, delivering essential medical support with proficiency and compassion,” said Acadian Ambulance President Justin Back. “We are incredibly grateful for their service and sacrifice.”

This year’s theme — “Improving Outcomes, Together” — highlights the vital relationship between EMS personnel and healthcare providers, as well as the importance of supporting EMS personnel.

This year is especially significant as Acadian Ambulance is marking its 55th anniversary, with the theme “55 years of service and caring.” This milestone is a testament to the enduring dedication of all our EMS professionals who have upheld the highest standards of emergency medical care since 1971.

“We encourage all residents to take a moment during EMS Week to express their gratitude to the EMS professionals in our communities,” said Acadian Ambulance CEO H. Eddy Dupuis. “Their commitment to serving others deserves our deepest appreciation.”
